How to Use the Global Search

The Global Search searches all layers that contain searchable content as well as addresses. It also searches for matches in multiple fields within each layer. For instance, the search for “2000 Lakeridge Dr SW” returns results from the address search, and the following layers:

  • Address Points TCOMM layer
  • Parcel Boundaries layer
    • Site address field
    • Owner address field

How to Search

1. Type in the search criteria into the Global Search box on the right side of the top panel of the site:

2. Press the [Enter] key.

3. It will search for the criteria from within the layers based on the fields listed below. (See Fields (Columns) Being Searched).

Fields (Columns) Being Searched
The Global Search searches multiple fields, but not all the fields. In general only those fields that help narrow down the selection or uniquely identify a feature will be searched. For example, in the parcel boundaries layer, the following fields are searched by the Global Search.

  • Parcel number
  • Site street address
